Don’t just use the library; be a part of it. The Friends of the Anderson County Library is a nonprofit organization that supports the Anderson County Library System to help promote the growth, development, and greatest possible use of this institution. Membership is open to everyone.
There are many ways to contribute:
Volunteer to work in the Friends Book Store or sort through donations. Volunteers must be 18 years old, able to work a cash register, and communicate well. Download an application or ask at the Reference Desk or the Friends Book Store at Main Library. Return applications to the Administration Office at Main Library or via email.

Your membership dues, at whatever level, are vital to our organization and to our library in helping to provide financial support for programs and materials that benefit patrons of all ages. Friends of the Anderson County Library Book Store
Located at the Main Library, all proceeds from the Book Store support the Friends of the Anderson County Library. The Book Store offers gently used books, magazines, and other materials, with rotating special sales every month.
Beginning March 15, the Book Store is open*:
- Monday – Thursday
- 10 am – 4 pm
- 10 am – 1 pm
- Saturday & Sunday
