eBooks, Audiobooks & Digital Streaming

Libby for Kids – This collection is limited to materials appropriate for children only. Read in a browser or download the Libby app to get started.
Tumblebooks: Interactive Stories Online – Digital story books, read alongs, nonfiction books, puzzles, games, and more. Access online or on the app.
Kanopy Kids – Enjoy unlimited plays of children’s favorites, like Highlights, Sesame Street, and movies and TV aimed at ages 2-8. To access, log in to your Kanopy account, then click Kids in the top-right corner of your homepage. Learn more about Kanopy Kids and parental controls.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Take part in our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program! The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes, you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten. Track your progress, earn prizes, and have fun! Launchpads: Preloaded Learning Tablets – These kid-friendly tablets come preloaded with learning apps and games in a range of subjects and themes.
Wonderbooks – Print books with a ready-to-play audiobook inside. Kids will press play to read along with their favorite books and then switch to learning mode for literacy learning and fun. Ask about Wonderbooks at your local library branch.
Children’s Museum of the Upstate Passes – Check out a pass to the Children’s Museum of the Upstate in Greenville, SC.

Award Books Collection

  • Caldecott Award – Given each year to the best illustrator of a story.
  • Newbery Medal  – Given each year to the best author of the written text of a book.
  • Coretta Scott King Awards – Given each year to the best African-American author and illustrator of children’s books.
  • South Carolina Book Awards – Books chosen each year by South Carolina schoolchildren in four categories: Picture Book, Children’s, Junior, and Young Adult.
