Local History:
Piedmont is one of the oldest manufacturing towns in South Carolina. In 1843 it was known as Garrison Shoals, and a small grist mill and log cabin were its only buildings. Today it’s a bi-county town. Separated by the Saluda River, part of it is in Anderson County and part in Greenville County.
