Support the Library

Don’t just use the library, be a part of it. The Friends of the Anderson County Library  is a nonprofit organization that supports the Anderson County Library System (ACLS)  to help promote the growth, development, and the greatest possible use of this institution. Membership is open to everyone.

There are many ways to contribute:

  • $5 Student
  • $15 Individual
  • $25 Family
  • $50 Patron
  • $100 Benefactor

Your membership dues, at whatever level, are vital to our organization and to our library in helping to provide financial support for programs and materials that benefit patrons of all ages. In return, you’ll receive discounts at local businesses and advance notice of special Friends programs.

For more information about how you can be involved in the Friends of the Anderson County Library, please contact the Friends’ office at (864) 260-4500 x107 or contact the Community Services coordinator.

Volunteering at the library is a very pleasant and rewarding experience. To volunteer you must be 18 or older, be able to work a cash register, and communicate well with other people. Our volunteers enjoy working in the Friends Cafe and Book Store at the Main library as well as sorting through donated books int he workroom. The proceeds from the sales allow the Friends of the Anderson County Library to provide funding for online databases and other services, materials the library can’t always afford, and special events.  If interested in volunteering, come by the Main Library and pick up an application in the Administrative Office, the Friends Cafe or the Friends Book Store.
