Cooperating Collections are libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit agencies that provide a core collection of Foundation Center publications and a variety of supplementary materials and services in areas useful to grant seekers.
Anderson County Library is one of over 400 locations across the country, and one of six in South Carolina, that serves as a Cooperating Collection. As a member of this nationwide network of libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit agencies, the Anderson County Library provides visitors with free public access to grantmaker directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center’s electronic database, Foundation Center Online Professional. The fully searchable database includes detailed profiles of all active U.S. foundations, as well as an extensive file of recent grants awarded by the nation’s top funders. Foundation Center Online Professional contains records for more than 96,000 active foundation grantmakers, including names of trustees, officers, and donors. Foundation Grants to Individuals Online is a database of more than 6,000 foundations and public charity programs which provide educational support and fund students, artists, and researchers. Philanthropy In/Sight is an interactive mapping tool for grantmakers and other researchers, designed to create maps that reveal patterns of giving and funding relationships. All materials are available for use in the library. The Foundation Center Cooperating Collection is located in the Main Library’s Reference Department For questions about the Cooperating Collection or grant writing, you may contact the Collection Supervisor, Marybeth Evans, at (864-260-4500 ext. 107) or by email: mevans(at)andersonlibrary.org
