Summer Reading at Anderson County Library
The summer reading program encourages children, teens, and families to read and develop the habit of reading during summer vacation. Library programs are free and open to all ages, from babies to adults. Parents, check out these tips for making the most of summer reading for your kids.
Signups begin June 1st. Click the banner for the age group to get started, or sign up at any library location.
Come for a heroic summer of books, games, crafts, movies, and special guests, all for free! Children who reach the reading goal earn a medal and a chance to win a Kindle Fire. Kids ages 5-12 can also earn a voucher to a Greenville Drive game.
- Goal for ages birth to 5 is to have 50 books read to them – Story Time books count! (June 1st through July 31st)
- Goal for readers ages 5 to 12 is to read ten hours on reading level. (June 1st through July 31st)

Calling all teens! Want to get rewarded for reading? Want to fill your summer with fun, free activities? Sign up for summer reading, log the hours you spend reading, and come to great programs at the Main Library, Belton and Powdersville branches. For every 25 hours you spend reading or listening to audiobooks, you’ll get a chance to win amazing prizes, including a $50 Target gift card! Open to teens ages 12-18.
