Anderson County Library's Branches

In addition to the Main Library in Anderson at 300 North McDuffie Street, Anderson County is served by eight branch libraries as part of an integrated system.  One library card can be used at all locations for borrowing materials and for internet access with a signed internet use agreement.

Branch library collections contain popular reading material, many best-sellers, fiction and non-fiction for both adults and children, and materials in special formats such as videotapes and large print books.  All branches participate in the children’s  Summer Reading Club, and many have children’s story times scheduled at different times during the year.  Story Time Schedule

Materials borrowed at one library branch can be returned at another, and library materials from any location may be delivered to another branch that is the most convenient for a patron to use.  The library system has a unified computer catalog which allows a patron to see what is in the entire collection by checking the  OPAC (on-line public access catalog) at any library.  A library courier regularly delivers materials from one branch to another to fill patron requests.  If the item you want to borrow is not in your closest library branch, please ask the librarian for assistance.

Although the collection of the Anderson County Library is constantly growing, we cannot purchase material to satisfy every request.  We are always willing to try and borrow items we cannot buy using interlibrary loan.  We have a computer link which allows us to borrow from libraries all over the country.  Please ask your librarian for help if you cannot locate a title in our catalog.  We may be able to borrow it for you.

Public access computers in each branch allow patrons to use the library catalog, access certain educational software programs, explore the internet, and use periodical indexes and look up some periodical articles in on-line full text.
Internet Policy

Word processing and other Microsoft Office applications are available for use on the library computers.  Printing costs ten cents per page.  Patrons typing a document may purchase from the library branch diskettes for 50¢ each.

There is a photocopier available for public use in each branch.  Copies are ten cents per page. 

Both state and federal tax forms are available during tax season (January through April) at all locations either for immediate pick up or to print or photocopy for our standard ten cent cost.
