Directions:
From Anderson and I-85, take US76 north toward Clemson. Bear right at intersection at Mechanic Street toward Historic Pendleton. Library is on the left side of the street.

Local History:
Founded in 1790, Pendleton is named for Judge Henry Pendleton, a Virginian who moved to South Carolina and became a prominent jurist, soldier, and legislator. The town was placed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district in 1970, and is one of the largest historic districts in the country.
